| Pitch Red is a glam, alternative, indie band, with a hint of classic rock. Hailing from the Toledo area Ohio, Pitch Red has been making music since the spring of 2007. The members consist of Anna Schaeffer (lead singer and guitarist), Jon Heider (drums and back-up vocals), Avery Sujkowski (lead guitar), and Ryant Thornberg (bass). Anna and Jon met in the summer of 2006, and officially formed Pitch Red the following summer. After two years of being a two piece, they recruited Avery and Ryant to join their journey. Pitch Red has played every major venue in Northwest Ohio. They have played with both local acts, and national acts, including: We Are The Fury, I See Stars, The Winter Sounds, Stop Don’t Stop, Forever in Terror, Resonant Soul, The Cetan Clawson Revolution, and more. Pitch Red makes a difference every year by their concert, The Red Benefit. This is an annual concert that Pitch Red created, supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In the two years in which they have planned and hosted this concert, they have raised well over $2000. Pitch Red has very dedicated fans, which are referred to as “Red Heads”. When Pitch Red released their single, Secrecy (released in 2008), the response to the song was overwhelming. Pitch Red has fans throughout the country, and hopes to play for every one of them one day touring, rather than having them all come to Ohio. Pitch Red is currently working on their debut EP. It will be a collection of five of what they think is Pitch Red’s best songs. BG News stated it best: “With their unique sound and band members, Pitch Red is definitely making noise on the local music scene.” |
